Betfair Appoint New Chief Technical Officer
Betfair, the world’s largest internet betting exchange, have appointed Tony McAlister, who’s previous experience includes 3 years as CTO for Vodafone, as their new Chief Technical Officer to head up their 300+ strong team of global engineers.
The appointment, announced today, will begin on 18th January 2009, and Tony McAlister will report directly to Betfair CEO, David Yu.
Betfair, the Systemlays betting exchange of choice, due to its market leading liquidity, has seen huge growth in the past 18 months due in part to the driving force Yu has put behind the brand – an effort which saw the exchange surpass 2 million members this year.
