Copa America 2011 – Day 4 – Group C Opening Matches

Today’s Copa America 2011 action sees Group C finally join the party as the Group of Death, as it is now being referred to in the office, kicks off.

The first match of the day will see World Cup 4th place finishers, Uruguay, take on Peru who are one of, if not the, weakest teams in the tournament. We think this should be a comfortable win for Uruguay and recommend BlueSq’s 10/3 on them to win by 2 goals.

In the day’s second game we have the very interesting tie up between Chile and Mexico. Mexico who were already weakened by sending a practically under 23 team plunged further into disarray by sending home a further 8 players for breaking team rules and throwing a party with allegations of prostitution and theft. So you would think this all points to a Chile win, and you would be right, but we think there could be a sting in Mexico’s tail and recommend caution in this game. In fact the Mexico win at 6/1 (Betfred, Victor Chandler and Paddy Power) does hold some appeal but we like the look of the Mexico +1 on the Asian Handicaps at 10/11 with Victor Chandler or even more appealing Evens on Betfair. So if Mexico win or draw you win, and Chile need to win by 2 or more for you to lose your stake.
