Well, this Easter week of live football continues this Tuesday night at Ewood Park, where Blackburn Rovers play host to Liverpool.

Both of these sides need Premiership points for different reasons. Blackburn currently occupy the final relegation place, so they clearly need the points to survive the drop, but Liverpool’s players, despite not having that worry, are desperate for points in order to avoid losing King Kenny as their manager and, possibly, their jobs for next season.

The question is: who will win this one?

Rovers have being playing well of late but some tough games have caused a good mini run of form to stutter, but, Blackburn will see this game as a real opportunity to grab three points. Firstly, they are at home, but more importantly they are against a side that are really low on confidence. The Reds have only managed one win in 7 games in the league and that run is the worst in over 50 years. It has caused many pundits to say that they are “in crisis” and has put Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish’s long term future in doubt. His summer signings have seemingly failed, with the exception of Jose Enrique, and they are looking likely to finish below their Merseyside rivals Everton.

With all this criticism being hurled the way of the Anfield club you could expect a backlash; a Liverpool performance that screams “you are wrong” but that seems a long way from coming. Maybe we can expect it from a few, like Carragher, Gerrard and Suarez, but the rest seem to be too inexperienced and are just crumbling. It seems this run of form may continue its course until the end of the campaign.

So, we are going for a Blackburn win. As we have said they will be well up for this and fancy their chances, but, what is more is the fact that Liverpool have an FA Cup Semi-Final coming up, so they may rest the only players that maybe could have helped them out in this game.
