We’ve Changed our Daily Lay Tips Page!
As regular visitors will surely have noticed, today we have launched our new trial lay page layout which includes the early lay prices (checked at the moment tips are added to the site). This should give you an idea of the sort of prices that will be available – i.e. if they are well over your maximum, you may wish to not bother even opening the market!
Hopefully this will save you time.
For the same reason, we’ve also added the link direct to the market – if only one or two prices (or even all of them!) take your fancy, now you can click the link and jump straight to the win only market on Betfair. This saves you time, as you won’t have to traverse the markets in Betfair.
The final update is that we’ve sorted the races into time order. Again, this should save you time jumping from event to event, or if you’re looking for the next race in line to place a lay.
Those of you who won’t be able to play live in the run-up to racing (within half an hour of the ‘off’ time) will likely miss out on the best prices by a couple of points – prices tend to shorten, particularly on favourites (top three or four horses in the market) as we approach this time. In which case, Systemlays recommend using an automatic betting bot, such as the LayBotPro to set up and forget your bets!
We’ve also recently implemented some new filters to our laying system following a gradual decrease in our win %age which, after a limited period, has seen our strike rate improve massively. More on this later in a separate post, which will include our monster laying audit (a serious amount of statistical analysis – if you like laying stats, you’re going to love what we came up with). In any case we want to hear what you think of these improvements – do you appreciate the new price info and market links?
Leave your comments below – we will listen to them and try to implement any suggestions, including if you think we should remove early prices, and that there is no need for the link outs! Help us make Systemlays UK the best laying resource there is – and let’s not forget we’re always going to be free!

Love the fact that you’re including the early price! It’s great for me because I lay your selections using an odds filter and this helps me speed up everything.
That’s great Gary – its actually quite useful for you to see the difference between the price the night before, in the morning, and before the race (at Betfair SP time) – over time this should indicate the best time to make bets as, generally speaking, the longer priced horses drift from early to off time, while the reverse is often true of shorter priced horses. Obviously, there are steamers and drifters which buck these (very) general trends, but it all helps when deciding to set up rules with a betting bot (or just general rules which are always worthwhile).
Additionally, we’re also going to try to add some odds comparison features to both laying and backing selections, as well as integrating some form of live odds – this is just the first step. Unfortunately, it is a great deal more difficult to grab the market data in a constantly updating page, yet keep the page load times quick on here – that’s what we’ve got technicians for!
