  1. Just wondering if you can add the odds to your backing/lay suggestions? It woudl save having to look them up manually for each one. I know they change but you could state ‘around XXX at time of publishing’ Especially for lays, this is crucial, as odds too great just aren’t worth risking. Thx.

  2. Hi Pod,

We did try this back in 2007, however, the odds the day before are often completely different, and people complained “I would have backed / laid it but you said the odds were XXX!” – so obviously its difficult to please everyone. This happened particularly after a horse we suggested to back won at a long price, back when we were running paid subscritptions, so its a case of once bitten twice shy.

    HOWEVER

We ARE looking to integrate some form of live Betfair prices in the near future – hopefully working hand-in-hand with Betfair to deliver LIVE odds, so they’ll be right at the time you come in, though this won’t happen before the Cheltenham Festival as we’re flat out getting ready for that – the easter weekend is ear-marked for us to look at implementing this in some way.

We’d also like to link you direct to markets within Betfair from each selection, as this would save you a lot of time jumping backwards and forwards. As with a lot of things on the internet, everything is possible, it just takes a fair amount of planning and time to put together! Hopefully you’ll bear with us, though, in the mean time, you can check out the Staking Plan which has devices inbuilt to deal with those longer priced horses of which you speak (longer priced horses win less regularly too – in fact there’s an interesting stat that we’re 100% in certain (admitedly high) price brackets) – http://www.systemlays.co.uk/staking-plan/

If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to let us know – we’re planning to add functionality for users to add their own tips and selections (with live odds) and a whole host of further enhancements this year, as the site is beginning to develop into a far wider resource than simply laying horses. Of course, we’ll always have plenty in that line!
