Ferdy Murphy will be bitterly disappointed that Joes Edge (a leading anti-post fancy of many) has just missed out, being placed in the nerve-wracking second reserve position. Two horses would have to pull out of the race in order for Joes Edge to run.
Ruby Walsh has stuck by past winner Hedgehunter, who heads the field with 11-12 on his back, despite a late attempt by Paul Nicholls to change his mind.
Last years 100-1 surprise fourth Philson Run has just scraped into this year’s race - at number 39 - carrying 10 stone 6.
