Grand National 2009 Free Bets

grand-national

Please be aware that some bookmakers WILL pull free bet offers on Grand National Saturday (4th April 2009) – BUT you can place a qualifying bet in the week leading up, get your free bet, and use that on the Grand National. We’ll draw a line through bookmakers who we know to be withdrawing free bet offers for the National.

The below table contains the latest info on Free Bet promotions which are offered by bookmakers for this year’s 2009 Grand National meeting at Aintree.

Bookmaker Free Bet Amount Available* Logo
Boylesports Bet £10 Get £20 Free!
Bet365 £200
Sportingbet £100
Sunderlands £50
VC Bet £50
888Sport £50
Betfair £25 (‘No Lose’ 1st Bet)
Totesport £25
Paddy Power 2 £10 Free Bets (altered)
Blue Square £25 + £25
Coral £10
Ladbrokes £10
Sky Bet £10

*Please note that the words ‘free bet’ usually refer to a bet which will be credited to your account after having made an initial qualifying bet – for example, you deposit and stake £20, and that is ‘matched’ with a free bet of the same value. Many of the Free Bet offers are a variation on this theme! What this means is that you will generally have to deposit and stake some of your own money, so be sure to play only with that which you can afford to lose.

That said, many of us enjoy a flutter on the National – betting online allows the opportunity to pick up such fantastic free bet offers – choose the ones which are right for you. Each Free Bet offer links to the bookmaker’s website (in a new window) so you can go and sign up an account. These free bets all apply only to new accounts with the bookmaker – if you already have an account, try a different bookmaker’s offer this time.

Systemlays UK Grand National 2009 Free Bet Recommendations

For our Free Bet recommendations, we’re assuming that you will belong in one of two categories (generally speaking!) – Category A are those of you who will only place a small wager on the Grand National, and maybe the FA Cup final, but won’t be betting regularly; Category B are those of you who bet regularly (more than 3-4 times a month) and play with stakes of more than £10 per bet, on single bets.

Category A – Smaller Stakes Grand National 2009 Free Bet Recommendations:

Those of you who only want to bet a small amount of around ten pounds are advised to take up the new Boylesports (Bet £10 Get £20 Free Bet) offer or to use the Ladbrokes £10 Bet Match offer.

Boylesports have launched a special offer just for Grand National 2009 which is a Bet £10 Get £20 Free Bet offer for new customers which does what it says on the tin! Sign up a new account, deposit and bet £10 and you’ll receive a £20 free bet within 24 hours, no questions asked, no silly strings attached. This deal will end on Monday 6th April, at which point Boylesports will once more offer £200 in free bets to new members. Click for more on this Boylesports Grand National 2009 Free Bet Offer, or Click here to visit Boylesports and sign up a new account.

Paddy Power’s deal will give you £20 worth of free bet credit once you have opened an account with Paddy Power (click here to get started), deposited £10 with a credit or debit card and placed a bet worth a stake of £10 (e.g. £5 each way on your Grand National fancy!) – you will be able to use the free credit however you choose, once it has been added to your Paddy Power account (maybe check our Systemlays free tips!). Click here to visit Paddy Power and sign up a new account. Deal now changed for Grand National to a free £10 bet after placing 5 bets, followed by a further free tenner after placing another 5 qualifying bets.

Ladbrokes are especially good as they produce a Grand National “Easybet” form which makes it really simple for you to get bets placed on the National – even if you’re not really sure what to do! Deposit and place a bet worth up to £10 and they’ll match this stake with a free bet of equal value. Click here to sign up a new account with Ladbrokes and claim your £10 Free Bet. Ladbrokes free bet offer closed for the Grand National – Use Boylesports instead.

Category B – Bigger Stakes / Regular Players, Grand National Free Bet Recommendations

Those of you who bet more often, or for higher stakes, may not have an online account yet – now is the ideal time to get a new one set up. We recommend Boylesports and Bet365 for such players.

The Bet365 offer is a little more tricky (literally involves you receiving and then using a free bet code – which you can get from your Bet365 ‘inbox’ once registered) to claim, but also offers a £50 bet match on your opening bet, and a further £50 bet match after making qualifying bets – see their terms and conditions before you start! Click here to visit Bet365 and sign up your new account to get started.

Try Betfair?

For all those of you who want to try something a bit different – you can always try a ‘no lose’ £25 with Betfair – they will give you a free bet matching your 1st stake (up to a max of £25) should that bet be a losing one – with Betfair, as its an internet betting exchange, where you bet against other people rather than a tradtional bookmaker, you can often get much better odds on your choice, too. Click here for more on Betfair’s £25 ‘No Lose’ bet offer.

We’ll update this page as and when we become aware of additional offers – you may also wish to check out our other betting guides for Grand National 2009 if you fancy a flutter on this year’s National.
