Premier League Football Tips Saturday 22 Nov ’08
Aston Villa v Man Utd KO 17:30
Villa performed extremely well last week to get the better of Arsenal and wrestle that all important fourth place from the Gunners, and will hope to do well at home today against Man United who have looked extremely good at times this season, but have struggled to win important matches. Man Utd need a win here to keep a safe distance behind Liverpool and Chelsea.
This match should on paper go to United, however, the way Aston Villa have been playing of late would suggest a draw or even a Villa win wouldn’t be a huge upset.
Advised: No bet
Chelsea v Newcastle KO 15:00
Chelsea can maintain their title challenge at home against a Newcastle side that will be nearer the bottom than the top of the table come the end of the season. Even with an injury list as long as your arm, Chelsea are stronger throughout their team than Newcastle.
Expect a Chelsea victory by more than one goal.
Advised:
- 3 Points Back Chelsea to win @ 2/9 with Totesport
- 2 Points Back Chelsea to win -1 Goal @ 4/6 with 888Sport
Liverpool v Fulham KO 15:00
Liverpool have been winning ugly this season, but they may not need to today as they have plenty in hand in terms of ability over this Fulham side. Fulham are unlikely to be in a relegation battle this season, but they should expect a nil return today.
Expect Liverpool to take this match by more than one goal.
Advised:
- 2 Points Back Liverpool to win -1 Goal @ 10/11 with 888Sport
- 1 Point Back Torres to score anytime @ 4/5 with 888Sport
Man City v Arsenal KO 15:00
Arsenal are increasingly difficult to predict this season, having won their toughest match, yet falling at home to the lowliest of teams. Man City are displaying somewhat similar characteristics.
Expect anything from a 2+ advantage for either side. This match will be taken by the team which puts their chances away.
Advised: No bet
Middlesbrough v Bolton KO 15:00
Boro should be able to beat this Bolton side at the Riverside today, as the two teams are experiencing opposite fortunes: Middlesbrough have overcome their stuttering start to the season and are looking more like a cohesive unit, whereas its getting difficult to see just where Bolton can pick up many points this term.
Advised:
- 2 Points Back Middlesbrough to win @ 10/11 with Totesport
Portsmouth v Hull KO 15:00
Portsmouth should get over their recent flat spell with a victory at home against overachieving Hull City.
Advised:
- 2 Points Back Portsmouth to win @ 10/11 with Bet365
- 2 Points Back Jermain Defoe to score anytime @ 6/4 with William Hill
Stoke v West Brom KO 15:00
Stoke City should get the better of West Brom at home today, however, West Brom have been showing bright spells of late which suggest there’s goals in them. Essentially, West Brom’s problems are in defence: where they are disorganised at the best of times. Those long throws and Stokes direct approach should see the home side score at least once. The question is whether or not West Brom can match this.
Advised:
- 1 Point back Stoke City to win @ 5/4 with Paddy Power
