Premier League Football Tips – Saturday 4th April 2009
Today sees the following matches take place, for which we provide the following advice:
Blackburn v Tottenham, 12:45
Tottenham are looking to further continue their run away from the relegation zone, while Blackburn are looking to get theirs started. This match is difficult to predict due to the inconsistency which has plagued both sides. No bet advised.
Arsenal v Man City, 15:00
Arsenal have really got their season back on track and will look to continue their good form and consolidate fourth sport with a home win over Manchester City. City are dangerous going forwards, but Arsenal have begun once again to find some attacking form.
Advised: Back Arsenal to win @ 8/15 with Totesport
Bolton v Middlesbrough, 15:00
Middlesbrough are in desperate trouble now with wins looking less and less likely as the weeks go by and relegation looking likely. Bolton should prove too strong for them at the Reebok stadium.
Advised: Lay Middlesbrough @ 3/1 on Betfair
Hull v Portsmouth, 15:00
Hull with home advantage should be able to hold Portsmouth to at least a point, and will likely have the fitter lineup following the mid-week internationals.
Advised: Lay Portsmouth @ 2.86 on Betfair
Newcastle v Chelsea, 15:00
Despite the talismanic Shearer stepping in for the rest of the season, this is not the match to try to get things back on track with: Chelsea need a win to maintain any sort of pressure on those around them and rescue their season. Newcastle, despite restored confidence, look unlikely to topple the Blues today.
Advised: Back Chelsea to win @ 3/4 with Expekt
West Brom v Stoke, 15:00
At the beginning of the season, we may well have thought this would be a relegation six-pointer. In truth, West Brom look like they are almost down, while Stoke have won difficult matches to get a three point cushion above the drop zone. Expect Stoke to return with at least 1 point.
Advised: Lay West Brom @ 2.2 on Betfair
West Ham v Sunderland, 15:00
West Ham should take this on paper, and judging by recent form, but Sunderland have been showing signs that they are on the upgrade of late, and a win for the travelling Wearsiders would be no surprise. Advised no bet.
Fulham v Liverpool, 17:30
Despite doing Liverpool massive favours when beating Man United a couple of weeks ago, Fulham will do well to repeat the feat against this Liverpool side who are now gunning for the title full tilt. That said, Liverpool have failed time and again to put these matches away all season – away fixtures you’d expect them to win, that is – so this can by no means be seen as a banker. Much depends on the Liverpool side which turns out this evening, and how they set out their stall. If they play as they can, they should take this by more than 1 goal.
Advised: Back Total Goals Over 2.5 @ 4/6 with Boylesports
