Royal Ascot – Free Friday Tips
Another day of Royal Ascot, and we’ve got a few more tips for your Placepots, Jackpots, Exactas and more. All of the selections below are solid each-way prospects based on our computerised system of speed ratings. Today we have a little less time for explanation, but all tips are fully expected to make the frame.
2.30 pm The Albany Stakes (Group 3) 2 fillies £70,000 Six furlongs
Race one, The Albany Stakes, we select the following as each-way hopefuls:
- Daisy Moses
- Cuis Ghaire
- Penny’s Gift
As usual, you may like to spice things up with Exactas or tricasts, for small stakes.
3.05 pm The King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2) 3 colts &
geldings £200,000 One and a half miles
In the King Edward VII Stakes, we really like All The Aces (and have selected it in our daily Backing Tips for Friday) – this horse should make the frame with ease if he runs to form.
3.45 pm The Coronation Stakes (Group 1) 3 fillies £250,000 Old mile
A nice little fillies race, The Coronation Stakes, sees us plump for:
- Spacious; and
- Muthabara
4.20 pm The Wolferton Rated Stakes (Listed) 4+ £60,000 One and a quarter miles
This Rated Stakes is a hot little contest with some of our favourite old stars in there. A difficult contest to call, but we think the winner may well come from the following three:
- Watamu
- Charlie Farnsbarns
- Soapy Danger
4.55 pm The Queen’s Vase (Group 3) 3 £60,000 Two miles
Captain Webb and Nemo Spirit could well lift the Queen’s Vase this year, though as with most Royal Ascot events, very few of them can be thoroughly discounted.
5.30 pm The Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap) 3+ £60,000 Seven furlongs
The lucky last race is another huge handicap event. We think the winner may well come from the bottom end of the handicap, in the form of either:
- Buxton;
- King’s Bastion; or
- Atlantic Story
Several others should race well in this event.
