Done correctly, trading on Betfair equals secured, certain profits. That sounds good, doesn’t it? It is. However, it is also difficult, requires a lot of care and precision, almost limitless patience and flawless attention to detail. There are several things, though, that can be done to level the playing field.

Use an automated betting bot

Have you ever noticed the thousands of 1.01 lays that go through on any given market of Betfair? Do you notice how quickly they are processed?

Chances are, these bets were made by a Betting Bot, or automated computer program which connects to Betfair’s API and places these bets to a predefined system, which will make a profit over the long run.

Now, we do not expect that many people reading this will have either the capacity or the inclination to write a betting bot of their own, however, there are automated, or semi-automated software packages which are available that make it easier for us to trade. And, after all, that’s what we’re here to talk about.

Automated Trading Software

There are a number of trading tools which one can use to make money trading on the exchanges, one of our favourites (which we use) is Betangel – click here to have a look at their website. 

This software allows you to perform one-click betting (even with their free software), performs 1 second price reloads, and allows you to jump around from market to market much faster than the ordinary Betfair website – which is full of pictures, and colourful links that add little to a traders life. Speed is of the essence in trading: if I want to close out a trade, I may only have 3 seconds to do so before it moves the wrong way again.

Using automated, predefined amounts, we can trade over and over again, each time locking in a small profit (for little risk – even if you do leave your trade open – which you shouldn’t).
